Major "traffic disruption" was reported throughout much of Wednesday (February 4) in the wake of the closures. Leicestershire Police had been called to a report that a man had collapsed in Oxford Street, close to the junction with Bonners Lane at around 5pm on Tuesday, February 3.

A former bank in Leicester city centre is being transformed into a new creative hub for young people. Pedestrian, a charity that provides education and training for people up to the age of 25 in challenging circumstances, is behind the project to convert the old Yorkshire Bank in Horsefair Street.

Leicestershire Police said that a man was fatally stabbed in Oxford Street, close to the junction with Bonners Lane at around 5pm on Tuesday, February 3. The man, in his 20s, was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later, as reported by LeicestershireLive.

A police scene was set up outside The Innovation Centre, which part of De Montfort University (DMU), before 6pm last night. Leicestershire Police said cordons are expected to remain in place for several hours, Leicestershire Live reports.
